CSDS Studio Policies



Centre Stage Dance Studio offers a variety of classes in classical ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, acro, hip hop and musical theatre from beginner to advanced.
 
Our studio offers Movin' Minis class for preschoolers and exciting and entertaining adult classes and a variety for all ages in between.

Ballet is based on the Russian Vaganova Syllabus. Jazz and tap are based on the C.D.T.A. Syllabus.
 
The studio offers our very popular OPEN Recreational program for students of all ages who wish to dance for enjoyment, exercise and the pure fun of it!
 
The ELITE Program is offered to the students who wish to dance competitively, participate in examinations or are considering a career in dance and the arts. It is required that all ELITE & exam students take a minimum of two ballet classes and one Paula Morgan Technique class per week.
 
Exclusive to Centre Stage are the Paula Morgan Technique classes.
In these classes you will increase your flexibility & strength by improving your technical skills and staying motivated, inspired and feeling totally empowered! Building a strong, solid and safe foundation is the key to peak performance and the longevity of a dancer’s body.

Private and semi-private training is also available upon request. Your abilities will be discussed and assessed.
With your best interests in mind, a qualified teacher will be assigned to meet your needs.


 
Dress Code
  1. All students are required to wear a black leotard and black dance shorts to all classes, except ballet and hip hop.
  2. All students are required to wear a black leotard and pink ballet tights to all ballet classes.
  3. There is no required dress code for students registered in hip hop classes, the funkier the better! However, clean inside running shoes must be worn. No jeans please.
  4. Pink ballet slippers, black jazz and black tap shoes are required for their corresponding classes.
  5. Bare feet or dance paws are accepted for excelerate, lyrical and contemporary classes.
  6. Any student participating in the Society of Russian Ballet examinations must wear the required studio leotard and appropriate ballet tights and ballet shoes.
  7. Students are required to have their hair up and in a secure bun for all ballet classes and up off their face and neck for all other dance classes.

 
Tuition / Payments / Refunds
  1. All tuition fees must be paid with cheque, cash or e-transfer ONLY.
  2. All tuition fees for students in the Open Program MUST be submitted in FULL at the time of registration with either one full-year payment or with 3 post-dated cheques for the first of the month in each term (September, December and March)Alternate methods of payment may be accepted. Please inquire with Monica in our administrative office.
  3. Our tuition fees are based on 32 weeks of instruction within the full program year.
  4. An annual non-refundable registration fee of $30.00 per student is payable upon registration. 
  5. All fees include 13% HST.
  6. A 5% late fee will be applied to payments overdue by 30 days.
  7. A $25.00 NSF fee will be charged to you, regardless of circumstances, for any dishonoured cheque returned from your banking institution.
  8. ALL TUITION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

 
Discounts
  1. A 5% Family Discount is offered to all siblings belonging to the same immediate family, upon submission of a complete tuition fee payment for the first child.  If the tuition fees differ, the discount will be applied to the lesser amount(s).
  2. A 5% Full Year Payment Discount is offered to students paying for the full year in advance.
  3. A discount is offered to all students registering for more than one class per week. 

 


 
Private Class Fee & Walk-In Rate
  1. $75.00/hour for private
  2. $25.00/hour for walk-in

 
Cancellations / Non-Attendance / Emergency Situations
  1. ALL TUITION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
  2. No refund will be given for the unused portion of a partially completed term.
  3. Notice must be given to the administrative office in the event of a withdrawal. 
    Non-attendance is not accepted as a cancellation notice from any class or program. Refunds or credits will not be issued for missed classes.
  4. Classes missed due to illness may be made up in a comparable class within the current term. 
  5. In the event of inclement weather, check out the CSDS website www.centrestagedance.ca or Facebook to determine the status of classes for that day. 


CSDS Guidelines/Expectations

  1. CSDS respects the safety of all of its students; therefore all nuts and nut-related products are strictly prohibited on CSDS premises and at all functions where CSDS students are in attendance (i.e. dress rehearsal and performances).
  2. Please do not bring valuables to the studio. CSDS cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items or for items left on our premises.
  3. Please inform our office of any change to your home or email address, phone/cell number or a change of emergency contact information.
  4. As a student and a parent/legal guardian, I will fully respect the judgment and decisions made by the director and the CSDS staff.
  5. As a student, I will be respectful and mannerly towards myself, my fellow peers and the staff of CSDS at all times. At no time will negativity or bullying be tolerated.
  6. I hereby release to CSDS the rights to all photography and video recordings that may be taken during classes, performances, competitions and/or conventions/workshops, or any studio-sanctioned events for promotional use.
